Field Day 2019 was held over 2 days on June 22nd and June 23rd using the Sumter County Sheriff’s emergency communications trailer which was parked at the Sumter County Annex. The Villages Amateur Radio Club had a very successful Field Day with 33 members participating in the event, and 11 visitors stopping by to assist and observe.
2 stations were operated for the event, and we had over 800 QSO’s on CW, SSB, and FT-8. We had greater attendance than last year, and we had several first-timers who participated in their first field day, getting on the air and adding to our overall totals.
Overall, it was a great event which went very smoothly, with lots of members making contacts and helping with setup and take down.
Plans are already underway for Field Day 2020!
